Top 6 Most Anticipated Video Games Of 2015

video-games-4 2014 brought us Dragon Age: Inquisition, Tales from the Borderlands and the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, just to mention a few. In terms of video games, thanks to apparition of new high-end consoles, 2014 proved to be a success. But as the year is coming to a close, we can already look forward to what will hit the shelves in 2015. The good news is that no platform will be left out – not even the home computer, which has seen a decline in popularity in the last 5 years. Most of the upcoming releases will be available both for consoles and for PCs and from what we’ve seen so far, some will stretch the hardware of both systems to the max – the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, the PC graphics cards and processors and even the Wii U, will have the chance to show their true colors.

1) Mortal Kombat X

There is no such thing as too many Mortal Kombat games. The series is hitting the big 10 next year and everything seems to indicate there will be a gory anniversary…with the gore in the game’s levels, of course. Not only will the über-famous FATALITIES be back, in an innovative and improved gameplay, but there will be unique abilities to choose from for every fighter and the chance to interact with the environment.

2) The Order: 1886

The Order: 1886 instantly caught our eye with the 36-minute gameplay footage that was released so far. While on the surface, it seems to be your average action-adventure, the graphics and overall feel seem to stand out. A title exclusively for the PlayStation 4, it is a fictional story set in London, during a time when monsters were attacking the population. You will be part of an order of knights meant to protect them from those vicious creatures. London has never felt more gothic and atmospheric and we can only hope that the actual game will live up to the hype.

3) Batman: Arkham Knight

Origins was a bit of a letdown in the excellent Batman Arkham series. There was not much going on with the story and the gameplay brought nothing new. But there is a powerful reason why Arkham Knight is still so anticipated: Rocksteady Studios. Rocksteady is the original developer of the series and many blame the dullness of Arkham Origins on their lack of involvement. Arkham Knight will showcase a Batman looking like a war machine and the return of the Scarecrow and his allies and we can’t wait to see Batman face him once more, especially since Scarecrow was one of the best characters present in Arkham Asylum.

4) The Legend Of Zelda Wii U

We weren’t joking when we said there was an eagerly-anticipated title for the Wii U as well. It’s The Legend of Zelda, of course –  one of the most acclaimed video game series. This new installment promises a large, open world environment, similar to those that were present in the first 2D games. Puzzles will also be revamped, with a complexity going beyond moving blocks to open doors. Suddenly, it feels good to own a Wii U.

 5) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The Phantom Pain promises a groundbreaking gameplay, which will raise the bar high for the so-called next-gen games. Metal Gear Solid has always been a solid (excuse the pun!) series, but from what we’ve seen, they might deliver their best installment yet. Graphics look amazing, with smooth animation, multiple vehicles able to be operated and an open-world impressive in size. Don’t be surprised if this action stealth game will win all the awards in 2015.

6) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

CD Projekt RED is a developer that throughout the years demonstrated that it can learn from its own mistakes and the proof is in the Witcher series, with each installment being better than the previous one. While the first Witcher had a great storyline, but the gameplay was a bit overwhelming, the second one improved it and added some wonderful graphics. Now here comes the third one, which looks like a sum of the best parts. Beautiful, complex and gripping, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has not only the potential of becoming the best RPG of the year, but quite possibly of all time.
